Tree species

Choosing the right tree species is an important step for the success of your (new) agroforestry project. On this page you can find information sheets on tree species that are regularly planted in agroforestry systems. If you haven't yet chosen tree species for your new project, be sure to pay attention to the three-step plan, in which you do the following: 1) a growth site analysis (how are the conditions on the plot and which species are suitable to grow well here?), 2) objectives analysis (do you want to obtain/fill wood, biomass, fruits, nuts, ecological functions, ... obtain/fill?) and 3) feasibility analysis (are the tree species disease susceptible and/or available from growers?). By carefully going through these three steps, you increase your chances of choosing tree species that thrive on your plot, meet the right objectives and are feasible.
