Agroforestry with plant production

In agroforestry, trees or shrubs can be combined with those of agricultural crops to create new products and services. We call this form of agroforestry silvicultural systems. With thoughtful design and a good approach, agroforestry can offer special opportunities to simultaneously address several challenges: increase business profitability and resilience, create opportunities for other links in the chain, provide resilience to the changing climate, and help preserve and protect biodiversity and natural resources. All are highly relevant in conjunction with crop production.
