Save the date: 15th of October 2024!
How can agroforestry or forest agriculture respond to the major challenges we face? What do we know about carbon sequestration, biodiversity, microclimate, yields and other effects of agroforestry? In what ways do trees in the field bring added value, pleasure and satisfaction? How does the Consortium Agroforestry Flanders offer support and facilitate knowledge exchange? What are the next steps and who will take them?
Where do we want to be within a good 10 years?
We would like to discuss these questions and more at the Agroforestry Event 2024: ‘Farming with trees: the road to 2035’. (please note that this event is in Dutch)

- Time: 9 a.m. - 4.30 p.m.
- Plenary sessions including a keynote delivered by Mark Shepard, agroforestry ambassadors in the picture and an overview of the results of the ‘Agroforestry Flanders’ operation.
- Parallel workshops on decision support tools for agroforestry actors, learning networks, policy and regulation, business models, future research, ...
- Agroforestry market and lunch
- Agroforestry ambassadors in the spotlight
- Optional visit to the experimental site at ILVO
Afterwards, at 17h15, there will be the opportunity to attend the Belgian premiere of the documentary ‘Bomen op mijn land (trees on my land)’, at the same location. The Dutch Ambassady, the documentary filmmaker (Joris Van der Kamp) and one of the farmers from the film (Diderik Clarebout - De Woudezel) will also be present and testify briefly.
